Redevelopment Strategy
Register all of the Ford Plants within Hines Park for National Historic designation, making the mills qualified for large federal grants and foundation funds. The mills are currently registered on the state level only.
Develop grant projects that bundle work on the mills together such as needed improvements like brick tuck pointing and windows. Bundle the repair of aging dams with restoration work on the exterior of the buildings.
Develop a Request for Proposals for developers or non-profits to partner on the final redevelopment of the mill through a long term lease agreement like the state park system utilizes. They have sixty eight (68) such agreements currently in 2019.
